I tried to copy two different movies, but dvd shrink says there is not enough room on a 4.7GB,2 hour disk. The movies are only 90 minutes long.have recorded many movies that did work.Any help would be much appreciated.

The movie length (running time) has nothing to do with the data which can be stored on a Single Layer disc. Many times if you isolate the main feauture from the extras the whole movie can be fitted on a SL disc and still have enough unused space. If the resulting compilation cannot exceed the demands of the shrink-reauthoring program then the problem will still exist (To high compression ratio). So I believe that you have to use alternative methods of shrink-recompile the original disc. Among the alternatives are:
(1). Two passes using string, sorry shrink (the worst quality).
(2). Keep main feature only and descard extras (best for buckup in one disc).
(3). Split the original in two single layer discs (you have to change discs during reproduction (but anything is kept).
Of course always you can use a double layer disc for backup purposes.
