im getting this error with one dvd. all other dvds shrink fine.

"the current dvd size is too big. if you continue you may not be able to burn the resulting files."

ive never seen this. dvd shrink does not want to shrink this particular dvd. the MB bar at top is green and red at the end.

It must be at the maximum it can shrink the movie with your current settings..
Are you trying to shrink a full disc movie or re-author?

Either way, try removing some sound streams and subtitles you don't need to make the disc you want to record smaller...

You can also let it do it's thing and then run the resulting files back thru DVD Shrink and it will work.

Aah, a concert video these always give problems, lots of audio and different angles. You can as, already stated, run it through Shrink twice but the quality may not be too good. Use a dual layer disk which will give you and exact copy and solve all your problems. Or you may want to try a program like DVD Rebuilder which produces excellent quality but has a small learning curve.

One of the audio streams are just there as some sort of an anti-piracy thing. You don't need. IIRC that audio is somewhere around 2 gigs. You don't need it, just the others.

Hey Binkie, that link you just posted was the one I was using as a reference.

So yeah, just remove that PCM thing.

I never even saw that other thread, I backed up my copy of the dvd within 10 mins of having it home.. but I always use re-author and movie only, and only choose 5.1 ch sound streams.

Glad you got it sorted.. would've helped you much sooner if you'd mentioned it was that you were trying to backup :)

VobBlanker to filter, process and blank out fbi warning, bad/fake cells/pgcs

    <><> B <><>

PgcEdit wizard (combo PSL2 plugin + FixVTS) to filter and process bad/fake cells/pgcs

    <><> C <><>
DVD Decrypter ro rip via Mode, ISO, Read R
DVD Shrink "Open Disk Image" to transcode/shrink

    <><> D <><>
DVDFAB Decrypter to rip into hard drive
VobBlanker to filter, process and blank out fbi warning, bad/fake cells/pgcs

    <><> E <><>

I had no problems with compression on either of these. I did full backups but replaced some extras w/ a still image and removed some audios. Kept the compression in the 70% range. Make sure you have shrink's compression set to automatic. What do you have it set at?

Make sure it's set at DVD5 or custom as target size in Shrink's preferences. That's what it looks like to me.

I'm not talking about the ratio or anything. If you go to Edit>Preferences>under the first tab>scroll down on box 'till you get to custom>tyep 4300 in box beside it.
