Hey, I usually burn DVD's right from the actual copy. But lately I've been trying to burn from downloaded ones. They burn, and seem fine. I play them off the DVD in my DVD drive on my computer, and they work great. BUT when I put them in my stand-alone DVD player, they skip. Like every 3 seconds, it stops motion, and sound. What do I do? OR what did I do wrong?
If ur using +R on an earlier DVD player, they don't like it. You'll need to buy one that will allow playback of multi-formats. It'll be on the box in most cases or in the manual. Hope that helps.
I am burning T 4X Speed, and am using Sony DVD+R discs. And guys, it's ONLY when I burn a video that I do from the internet. If I backup a DVD it works fine. What I have been doing is this: 1. Download video (in .avi format) 2. Convert to DVD format 3. Shrink it (with DVD Shrink) 4. And then Burn it. This is exactly what I do for Backing up DVD's also, minus step 1 and 2. And when I am at the 3rd step, I test the new DVD formatted video to make sure it works before I shrink it. And it does. But as soon as I burn it on the DVD it skips. But ONLY in my DVD player stand-alone. If I play it on my computers DVD player, it works fine. So what the heck is going on?
What DVD player are you using??? I would go to dvd-r's for the greatest compatability. Then if your dvd player is still having issues for 69.95 buy the dvp642 by Phillips. It is the best dvd player for playing mulitable formats and has a great reputation. I can literally watch any format
use "Reauthor" mode in Shrink instead of full disc. Drag and drop each file and backup. I had a similar problem when I would transcode using VSO but you didn't mention which program you were using to go from Avi to dvd.
