dvd software to copy to svcd

    I need some
    one to help me as i am very new to coping dvd to vcd. I have tried many types of software and have followed the instructions to the letter. I seem to beable to make a vcd in empeg, it works on my pc brill through my windows media player. the problem is that it wont work on my stand alone dvd player, in fact none of them will with all the types of software i have used. what am i doing wrong, can you help me before i go crazy...... i use nero to burn it to cd.

    can you tell me what type of software you use to rip/compress/burn dvd to vcd?

    any help would be great

    Well, maybe you're into wrong forum, but heck.
    My favourite is DVD2SVCD One click and go.
    Ehh. Where have I heard that before?
    Well, this one has been released for a long time - it works for me.

    or maybe www.dvdx.com is something?

    Chris, you say that none of them will work on your stand-alone. Are you completely sure that your stand-alone supports vcd/svcd cause a lot of em dont!

    Are you burning the vcd onto CD-R or RW? A lot of standalone DVD players will only play VCD's that are on CD-RW.

    Thanks everyone , decided to buy another dvd player, and gues what....yes they played. feel like a fool, but i am learning and thanks for your help. chris
