I have recently started having this problem while burning DVD-R's using NERO 6.3.1.6. I am using an LG DVD-RW drive, if needed I can locate the specific model number. When I burn a DVD, usually of a movie, the progress bar will randomly stop - sometimes halfway through, sometimes at the end, - and the Elapsed Time will keep counting, the activity light on my drive will continue to blink, but the burning actually stops. At this point I have to manually shutdown NERO through the windows manager, and reboot my system to get the disc out. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it my drive, or something software related? Also, I've noticed as well (also during CD burning) the Used Read Buffer will randomly go down to 50% for awhile, or bounce around irratically, and then go back up to 100%. I never have anything else running while burning DVDs or CDs. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! =D
Hi. Post the section of your Nero History File that pertains to this burn attempt--probably the last section. The file is in this path: Program Files -> Ahead -> Nero -> NeroHistory Each section of the lof begins thusly: ====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ====== your name Nero program serial number Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 You might try upgrading Nero. Your version is pretty old. Nero 6.6.0.18 is recommended as the best version of Nero 6. If you upgrade, first write down your Nero serial number and then run the Nero 6 Clean Tool: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/Nero_6_CleanTool.html Version 6.6.0.18 is available here: Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Edit: added Also make sure sure your HDDs are defragmented.
