My DVD-R used to rip DVDs at 6-9x (obviously it varies depending on where it is on the disc), and now it suddenly rips at 0.8x max. Everything in settings everywhere is set to max, I don't know what could have changed? I use DVD Decrypter, BTW.
Ldlol, First check to see if your drive slipped into the PIO mode and re-set to DMA if it has. Go here for setting DMA: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf or here: http://www.burstcopy.com/dma/xp/.
Are you copying a Copy? I have had that problem with copies I made to Crappy disc, like Memorex. Or, heaven forbid, your reader may have went “Tits up…”
Now it only burns ISOs at 0.8x as well. I set it for DMA, and it was working at DMA-33 before, and now it only works in PIO mode. WTF?
Hey i read about something like this in PC Mag. or something. Is your drive a Plextor? if so i might be able to help!
It's an LG GWA-4164B, but I think some Plextors are rebranded LG's, and even if not, it's worth a try if you're willing to look it up. Thanks.
ok heres the jist of the article. with plextors px-716. this drive restricts css encrypted ripping to 2x. but you can disable ths function with the bundled plextools. launch plextools select drive settings, click the advanced tab, and check the box next to enable SPEEDREAD CD/DVD. well thats about all i can help ya with. im prayin your burner didnt die on ya.
