dvd to avi or mpg??

    I need to convert a dvd to an avi or mpg file. I used dvddecypter to convert it to a ,vob file but i dont know how to convert it to avi or mpeg. any ideas?? freeware??

    If you have WinAvi you can convert it to a avi easily,But it is not freeware i got it for free though i cant find any freeware dvd,avi,mpg converters.

    ok i found the trial version of winavi but it puts their name right in the middle of the video after it converts it. do you know of any freeware programs that will work for me?

    ok i have the full version of winavi now but the converted videos are upsidedown?? how do i fix that??

    Hey blackie1,

    How the hell did you make them upside down? i have never done that before. And do you have Nero 7 Ultra Edition?

    it converts them upsidedown automatically?? i have to go in and set the program to make the video output upside down in order to get them right side up again! hahaha wtf!! now im having trouble with it only converting have of the files or it will split them in two?? wtf??

    Try Direct VobSub. When you play a video file, it displays an icon in the tray. Right click it, and choose 'Flipped Picture' or 'Original Picture', whichever looks right.
    I think this would be easier than converting the whole video again.

    There is an option in the advanced page that can adjust picture in right side.When you convert to dvd,you need split the outout file to less than 1013mb,if not you couldn't burn to disc.
    If convert to avi,you can merge several files into one,or split output file.
    You can choose what you like. :) try it you will know more
