Is it possible to copy a dvd to a compact flash just as it is on the dvd, with menus and everything? If so, which program could do it?

I am going to use the compact flash in a dvd recorder with card-reader.....

How many stand-alone dvd recorders have YOU seen with vlc player installed?

This don´t work at all and the link is describing how to play a movie from compact flash on a laptop. I know how to do that but it wasn´t what i asked for....

I can always rip and convert the mainmovie to the CF and playback it on my dvd recorder (which btw supports xvid/divx/ etc.) but i want it all with menus and everything.

I am thankful for the fast reply though!

    Hi,

    this might be a method

    1) rip full disc to pc with dvdfab
    2) edit with vob blanker
    3) compress with dvd shrink
    4) transfer file to CF memory

You may save the sarcasm for those who don't mind being reproved, admonished or put in their place - people like yourself are the bane of the Internet.

Thanks for your answer Bryston, i will try that when i find the time. It could be a working theory and definately worth a try!

And to Attar I must say this : You are absolutely wrong in your conclusion (and you might call this reproving or whatever) but the "bane of the internet" is in fact people that are leaving incorrect or misleading information because they either don´t read the question or that they simply don´t know what they are talking about although they want to give the impression that they do.

Or a supercillious little twerp who isn't man enough to admit that the link I posted contains exactly the same advice as bryston.
Your sarcastic reference was the hallmark of a sneering, know-it-all child:your response was churlish and your manner unacceptable in someone posing a request for help.
Don't bother replying - I'm unsubscribing from the thread.

Well, first I have to reply to what this thread is really about...

The dvd-recorder i have will only accept movies which are in one single file and in mpeg/divx/xvid/whatever. It is a real shame it won´t accept dvd iso, that had been just perfect. So, actually the only way to use the cardreader for movies is to convert with any of the huge amount of converters out there. No problem to do that, just won´t save me any time as i hoped for. It´s a shame it won´t accept dvd files but i guess it is intended for using memorysticks/cards from cameras to show pictures. So, i guess i will stick to dvd-shrink and dvd-rw.

Then, to the "no-longer-subscribing-to-this-thread" attar :

Yes, the solution that bryston suggested leads to the same result but i can´t really see how that has anything to do with "being a man"? The big difference between bryston´s answer and attar´s answer is that bryston starts with "this might be a method" whilst attar is linking to an answer for a completly different question. "do like this, case closed!"

I hoped that my initial post was clearly stating that it was a "non computer based" gadget that i was talking about and the answer linked to was how to playback on a laptop with the help of software. I i wanted to do that i could use my laptop or a htpc or a modded xbox or any other "computer in disguise".

I am absolutley clear on the fact that attar, with his huge amount of posts here in practically all kinds of threads, have a big knowledge about ripping/backup/converting things and should have some rightful respect for that but the particular answer i got this time just doesn´t help me out. How anyone can be so offended by my comment is just puzzling.

When i use my right to disagee with attar when he states that "people like you are the bane of internet" because i don´t get overwhelmly impressed by his answer and i on the other hand states that the biggest problem with internet is misleading or incorrect information he really spins off and gets really out of line.

Keep in mind that i never wrote that i referred to attar in my post, although he obviously felt really targeted. I just wrote that incorrect information is a problem on the internet, no matter who writes it. Attar, on the other hand, made some really rude attacks at me, in person.

So, to all you reading this, if you have anything at all to say/write about this, please do so.

    @TC,

If you didn't like his answer, how about this for an alternative:

Say thank you, shut up, and move on.

It's responses like yours which really leave a sour taste in my mouth for helping others.

Not a good way for you to introduce youself to a forum.
