Okay, I did what JaguarGod said in a thread about ripping advent children into m2v and ac3, then using a combining program to put them together. But now I've got my MPEG and none of my video editors will open it except Movie Maker, but that flips the scene upside down and pixelates it. What I need help with is somehow getting it to be recognised by my programs, because currently it just gives me file format errors, and its driving me mad. I even left my computer on all night to see if I could convert from MPEG to AVI, and it gave me an error in the morning, so I just don't know. Can someone help?
This mpeg file is a good file, you can click on it and it plays ok in Windows Media Player? Assuming the file is OK, download Tmpgenc DVD Author trial: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda20.html#trial Start it up, Click 'Start a New Project' then 'Add File' BTW it can also import .m2v files. Looks like I stumbled on to your thread. I wonder would Nero Recode make it into the correct format for the YouTube thing? You can use the free version of Recode or if you have Nero just use the full version. First make a new DVD. Create a Final Fantasy folder and inside create a VIDEO_TS folder. You have the .m2v and .ac3 files. Launch IFOEdit or Muxman and mux them together. For IFOEdit, choose "author DVD=>author new DVD". Now import your files and mux them. Set the destination to the VIDEO_TS folder. You should not have to edit any commands, but if you have to, use PGCEdit. Open the DVD and set the "First Play" command to "JumpTT: Title 1". Save and exit. Now launch recode and import the DVD. Set the output to a portable Nero Digital format and a low resolution like 320x240. If you only want a clip, you can use higher resolution. Set the target size to 99MB. Now, encode and that should be it. However, note that you will get a .mp4 extension. I am not sure if YouTube uses that. You can try renaming it to .mpg but I do not know if that will work. If this does not work, you can try using a DivX or XviD software to convert the video. First, you may have to convert the audio to .wav. You can use Besweet for that. Then you should be able to import the .m2v file into the software. This will give you a .avi extension. Also, DVD Shrink version 2.3 (Not 3.2) can convert DVDs into .avi. You can give that a try. Also, keep in mind that some software can import .VOB files but not .m2v or .ac3 which makes no sense... For making the DVD again, you can follow the IFOEdit step. Then if you want the main menu back into the movie, I can let you know how to do that.
