hi guys ..im noob to this but i was wondering if its possible and if its even worth it ...and if its possible how and what software would i need ... like most of us ..i have children and i buy them lots of dvd`s and some i own that id like to watch over and over again ... but like any normal child /teen ...they dont take care of dvd`s and they get thrown around and ruined ..hence needing to buy more ... but id rather do this is possible ... i was always thinking of buying a separate computer i can setup in livingroom and is it possible to take all these movies i own as well as music cd`s and put them all on a harddrive like a playlist and when kids wanna watch a movie they can select any movie from our own playlist ... or if wife wants to listen to certain cd while cleaning she can just click playlist and listen away ... can i download movies off dvd`s to my pc ...id assume id need a virtualdrive ..but again i dunno if i can even do this but would love to ...please help me ...
If the files are ripped and saved to a folder on the PC, then a batch file or script shortcut on the desktop can be pointed to that folder and start the movie running. The part in bold, is the location of the media player (VLC in this case). The second part is where the movie resides. The example below is typed in notepad and saved as Kindercop.bat and saved to the desktop. To start Kindergarten Cop, click on the shortcut. "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\Superuser\My Documents\DivXtoDVD\Kindergarten Cop"
