dvd to vcd: can't work on dvd player

    Hi everybody!
    I have read the article"dvd to vcd with Smartripper,DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc".
    I have perfectly followed what it said but I still can't make my cd-r play on my dvd-player.
    My dvd player can play vcd's( it's a LG 4730)and I have used a normal cd-r. When I want to read it on my dvd player it says "Disc Error".
    I have tried several times but i can't make it work. Can someone help me please??

    Can your dvd player play cd-r media?? for example some sony will only play cd-rw media!
