I would like to be able to find a DVD/VCR combo letting
me copy from DVD to VCR without copy protection problems.
It also has to be able to go from VCR to DVD without copy
protections problems. Along with composite video in/out
I need s-video in, out too would be nice.

My old TV in my exercise room only has a built in VCR and enjoy
    watching movies while working out.

    Anyone know of one?

    thanks,
    Ken

You won't find one that will copy from dvd to vhs, because of copy protection. There was a device, a year or two back, that could be attached somehow, that would allow it to bypass the copy protection, but it was [bold]VERY[/bold] expensive, and most didn't think it was worth the cost. I don't remember what it's called, or where to get one. Maybe someone that remembers, will chime in.

    EDIT:
I did a quick search, and turned up this:
    http://www.xdimax.com/dvd/dvdredpro.html
Not as expensive as they used to be...........

Several years back I bought a DVD player that I was able to modifiy
the firmware such that it disabled copy protection. This required
removing a eprom chip, reprograming it. I have been
using that one to copy from DVD to VCR.

I was wondering if any DVD/VCR recorders where still hackable
to disable copy protection like I did on the one I mentioned.
