Can someone give me a quick leason on formats? Is a recording onto a Video CD as good as a DVD? Can it hold as much? Any other info would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to decide whether to buy the VideoXpress unit or the Turtle Beach Video Advantage PCI, and I noticed the Video Advantage PCI will transfer video to media such as DVD, SVCD, VCD, but the VideoXpress will transfer to Video CD only, not DVD.

    Thank you

Yes to your first question and No to both your technical questions. Get the multi format Video Advantage PCI. Converting and compressing to CD will lose a lot of quality. The last has more to do with transcoding than capture though. Just remember that DVD compliant creations burned to DVD play on your standalone DVD player. Only some of the newer players handle CD. Also consider the content, it takes about 6 CDs to equal the content of DVD5.

Thank you for your informative reply. I'm no longer considering the Video Xpress.
