so i ript a dvd movie with dvd Decrypter and used dvd2one and burned it with nero, dvdvideo. and now it will not launch the movie at my stand alone dvd player?? Question is: what did a wrong ?? a have the Sony DRU-500AX
I'm having similar probs, first I assume the sony is your burner, if it is,check the lists on this site to see what your standalone player will do,some players will play nothing but rented or bought dvd's. You really need to be trying to burn more than one dvd to see if you get any succeses and this may lead you to some sort of conclusion,if after having looked at the lists u see your standalone player supports dvd-rw,then burn on those first (saves dosh). Finally and not least, type of media you use, experiment a bit Frosty
So like I say, if it plays anything, first get some rw's to save your money and try some different films, when u use dvd2one there is a site for a prog called copy2dvd which works well alongside dvd2one,incidentally,do these films work on your pc? Frosty
yes on my pc they work perfect, but on the standalone dvd it will not load the disk i think its the securety of the dvd a think too try it with IfoEdit maby it will work after make it region free??
try a different burning program such as prassi primo or recordnow max I had same problem record now max fixed it
I'm having both problems and sucesses. 2 sucess and 2 failurers and at ~2 bucks/dvd-r it could get expensive pretty fast. My hunch is during the authoring step, the firstplay (or title screen) is not being properly linked to the chapters and the player is stuck infinitely on the title screen. My first success was to decrypt a DVD using decrypter in ISO mode and then use the same program to burn the image onto a dvd and worked like a charm. The other sucess was to use DVDit to author a movie from my camcorder (although it happened the second time) tweaking with the firstplay slot. Lately, i've tried using ifoedit to author the DVD with chapters and i could not get it to play on my player (sony dvp-s330). I used ifoedit to save an image onto the harddrive and used iso mode to burn the dvd image using decrypter. It works on my computer, but not in the player. I think the player needs a still image with a link to the chapters to work...who knows...i'm still much of a newbie
So while u try all your experiments,BUY SOME RW'S and save money, also get these failed discs to a friend/s and try in their players. I had a mustek v562 and it played most things that I burnt but there were a few failures, the other day I bought a pacific 1002 from Asda with a 3 year guarantee, this baby amazingly does it all, and yes it plays my previous failures that the mustek wouldn't. i just forgot too say,a used the bulkpaq generation 4 ,2x speed, but are they not good for the sony a meen a heard some bay news about this kind off disks???
Got to say I'm using bulkpaq gen 3's with no problems at all. Discs burnt on a sony DRU500 using Nero.
The buying RW's is a good idea for experimentation purposes. But i think I found out what the problem may be. When I used ifoedit and compared a failed burn with one that worked, in the video_ts seciton under the value of the start sector (pointing to the first chapter) should not be zero, it should be the same as the sector start given under the section VMG_PTT_SRPT TITLE_1: Title set starting sector If these are non zero and the same, then the DVD should be able to played on the stand alone. I guess that until all the kinks are settled, it would be more cost efficient to use RW's since you can re-use until it's correct. Hope this kinds of helps
No nkuperw, you've found out what's causing a problem, not THE problem, in fact you have made a benchmark that others can follow and say, well I've done that right but I still can't get a correct burn, like I said previously, discs that WOULD NOT play in my Mustek, now play fine in my other player so it's not as if anything is wrong, its just a player/laser intolerance to a certain media maybe. I tell yuh, this is a new ball game and the jurys still out,all we can do is to try and create an almost sterile process 4 burning and learn by process of elimination. Frosty
Sounds like it could be a media incompatability, I backed up about 3 or 4 of my dvd's onto bulkpaq gen3 purple dvd-r's and they played on everyone else's players including a PS2. But not on my stand alone player which normally plays everything you throw at it. Now using Datawrite yellow and hav'nt had one that wouldn't play since. I also agree with MrNewt, although it has it's place Nero is not the best for Dvd as he say's try Prassi Primo DVD or Stomp Record Now Max.
