I have a DVD which plays well visually but it has low sound.
Is there a program available which will amplify the sound during backup?

This assumes that the source is a burned DVD or folder (not an encrypted commercial disk).

Demux the audio and video using 'ReJig'.
Run ReJig and choose 'IFO mode'
'Add' VTS_01_0.IFO from the your VIDEO_TS folder.
Check the 'Demux Video' button on the lower left panel.
Select the Video and Audio streams on the right panel, select an output directory and 'Process'
This saves the video and audio as elementary streams (.m2v video and AC3 audio).
    Exit ReJig.

Use this link to boost the AC3 audio file that you demuxed.

You would drag the audio file to the AC3Gain folder and choose one of the bat files.
It outputs a new audio file.
If the level isn't high enough, remove your original file from the folder and run the bat file on the newly created file.

When satisfied with the level, run Rejig again, choose 'Author Mode' and input your elementary .m2v video file and the new AC3 file.

Note that if the original AC3 file has a delay factor shown in the file name, you can enter this number (+ or -) in ReJig before muxing the new DVD.

Select an output destination folder and 'Create' the new DVD.
