I recently backed up my copy of The Count of Monté Cristo. I used dvd backup and then DVD2ONE with a guide i found online. I followed the directions meticulously and the DVD works in my computer like a normal DVD (it even opens up on its own) but not on my DVD player. I thought I had a pretty "hep" DVD player, new enough. Quite new actually considering the one I'd owned before I bought in 1997 with the advent of DVDs. Anyway, I thought this might have something to do with either making it region-free or removing the encryption. Any thoughts suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
It could be the way you burnt it. Visit http://www.chrismccann.co.uk and click on the user guides. There is a Nero and a Record Now Max guide there. Follow them
What format media did you burn the movie on? -R/RW, +R/RW. Does your newish player support that format? Have you tried it on the older player?
I burned it to -R and I'm using Mac OS X, so anything that won't work with that.... PS what's Oriphus on the tute? thanks for replies
hi cant see my standalone there? but mine plays mp3 dvdr dvdwr cdr ntsc pal and its a noname cheapy from safeways £49 even came with scart cable its compaq
That particular site gets all its info from users who submit their own results. So if your stand alone isn't listed then you can add it in, and the next guy can see all the stuff it can play.
Try posting in the DVD Ripping for Macs as well. if you have done this already, excuse me, i never go there ;-)
opus, what does is say on he front panel when you put a disc in, does it saye error or unrecognised ? and Ken, i have looked elsewhere and this teac player is not very common, not a great sign.
I appreciate all your help and I think i've figured out the problem-and even found a workaround. The TEAC says "no disc" after attempting to read it. (That's the last time I buy a DVD player from damned costco) However, my Playstation 2 will read it just fine-so problem solved.
Ah well mate, at least you have your ps2, as the player says "no disc"looks like it wont read dvdr's :>(
