Hi Everyone, this is my first post here.

I have a NEC Optiac DVD-RW AD-7200A and a Lite-on SHW-16h56 DVD-RW in my computer and both have been working OK. XP does not recognise these drives anymore since I uninstalled Roxio10. An event viewer shows (code 7026), the driver (IMAPI) failed to load and when checking in my device manager, it states that "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".

It appears to me that Roxio has messed up both of my DVD drive drivers. My BIOS checks out Ok, both my drives are recognized and will run a CD/DVD from a cold boot, but are not recognised at all by XP. I used my Windows98SE Boot up floppy disk which allows me to recognise the drives, but in DOS only.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drives, but nothing changes, so it has to be a driver problem or most likely the drives are not being initialised at boot time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

WOW! Thank's a million GrandpaBruce - Fast response and it took me just a few minutes to have the drive working perfectly once more, using the MS Manual Method Two.

    Great Forum.
