I have the original DVD writer that came with my HP pavilion a630n computer and have used memorex disks as long as Ive had it without a single problem. I found out how bad memorex quality is and bought a 50 pack of Fuji Film DVD+R disks ( Made in Japan) and a 50 pack of Sony DVD+R disks (Made in Japan). Every single time I put in one of the disks, you can hear the disk just spinning ( I would assume) and it is not reconigzed, "My Computer" then does not respond and I have to eject the disk. I ran the Driver/firmware update from HP but it says "Your system is not configured with this drive, It does not need to be updated." I dont know what to do but it seems I have 100 worthless DVD+R's now, can anyone give me some help with these.

    Thanks for any help

I found that the DVD writer is a Lite-On DVD+RW SOHW 802S, I cant find any firmware for it though.

I think that you are right - no updates.

Yeah after some more searching the only way to update the 802S is to "crossflash" a firmware from a similar driver, the 832S (I believe) Thanks for helping tho, I appreciate it.
