I have a lg dvd writer, GSA-4167B, which i do not seem to have any problems with. When i go to device manager it says DL12 whish i believe is my firmware. I went to the lg update site h**p://gb.lgservice.com/gcsc/b2c/hpi/main and had a look and i noticed an update DL13. But i am baffled a bit because when i read through the instructions it says (This firmware update is for drives with original firmware versions below DL12.) My version is DL12, I have never updated it since i bought it, is it alright to update or should i leave it especially since i do not seem to have any problems. Any help appreciated.
As long as everything is working well then DON'T update your firmware. Wait till you start having problems before go looking for a newer versions.(Also depends on what problems you are having later on too....read more on this website for future reference)
You posted this in another thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/449694 Although I do feel updating is worthwhile, Fiji5555's viewpoint is certainly valid.
