i have a media center and with media centers there are a lot of things that are incompatible with it. I took everything that was incompatible with it and it was working fine. Now my drive is writing at 4x instead of 16 or even 8x. I checked the ide settings and i took off everything that has been put on there recently. The problem is that it takes about 20 minutes to write instead of 10 and then when its done it wont pop out. It wont even eject i have to restart my computer just get my dvd out can someoone help me. Called hp but they gave me the run around thank you for any help.

Sounds like your DMA has reversed to PIO Mode or Off instead of DMA On/Available. Try this link to troubleshoot or uninstall some of your controllers drivers or burner's drivers, here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

    Good luck!!
