I am wanting to buy the DVDX Platinum software. I have been making copies of the movies I buy myself as backups. All of a sudden my copy of movieclone 3 isn't working. Has anyone bought this platinum software? Will it get past the copyrighted symbol on the new dvd's? I noticed the new dvd's coming out have a symbol of 2 cd's w/ a red crossed out circle on them. I don't want to spend more on a software if I can't get past it. Thanks. Please let me know if I posted in the wrong forum.

don't waste your money with dvd-x-copy...its crap. there are many other free programs out there that do a much better job, such as DVD Shrink or AnyDVD. Check out our guides section for more info:

If u are going to pay for a platinum pack then u carnt go wrong with Dvd fab platinum it reads, compresses and burns all in one, plus u dont need a protection remover like Anydvd orDvd 43 because it has one built in it is updated very often so it can handle all new protection.I have never had a dvd it couldent handle.

Stay away from DVDXcopy this software is not being supported, and cannot break any new encryption. Try the free programs DVD FabDecrypter which can break all the new encryptions and then DVD Shrink which will compress to fit, and also rip older movies and DVD Decrypter if you need a program to burn. You can also dl the trial of AnyDVd which will also break encryptions. Try the free ones before you put out money for something that does not work. You can get guides and software at this site.

Okay.....first I want to say thanks for all of your replies.
I have movieclone3 and dvdx platinum installed on my computer. I downloaded the free version of anydvd and had it running in the backround when I used BOTH of my softwares to try and back up a movie it did not work. I do not think I am understanding this right. Which free software from this website should I be downloading to back up my movies? Thanks

Your programs are probably not liking AnyDVD, which I don't know too much about either one. Not programs that too many people use. Since you dl AnyDVD go back and dl the trial of it's companion CloneDVD. This program will compress and burn your DVD. You use it with AnyDVD running in the background. Here is a guide.
