I can copy the DVD just fine, but my DVD player and computer do not recognize it right away. My DVD player just will not play it (but it plays other DVDs that have been created by other DVD XCOPY versions). I did get mine when they were still making them with the ripper. Am I doing something wrong?

My favorite TV show is coming out on DVD 8/17/04 and I want to make sure I keep the original show in pristene condition. I want to make a playable copy when it comes out so I don't wear out my original. And in the meantime I have been testing out on the other DVD's I currently own.

You probably forgot about the protection, and maybe you should try burning at exactly 1x

What version are you using? The last ripper version was v4.0.3.8 which can be downloaded from here:

Also XCopy doesn't do episodes that well. Try another method. DVD Shrink w/ DVD Decrypter or AnyDVD w/ CloneDVD2 work great.
