The other day i backed all my games up to HDD, they are all shop bought disks, they all seem to work 100% fine but i noticed something odd when copying the games accross with DVD2Xbox... mediacheck files? There are between 1 and 3 files per disk? what are they? are they the files that stop you running copies without a chip??? Any info on these odd little non-problems would be cool. After Feb 2003 near enough all games feature the media check flags .All the latest bios's feature the media check patch so that they take no notice of the checks and as you found out certain utilities remove the check as they copy across .It's only the older modchips that can't upgrade the bios that need the patches applied to your backup disks .If you use programmes like Craxtion for compiling your backups it does it automatically for you in the latest version.
