I've been using DVD Shrink in the past and found it to be a very effective program.
Now I've learned about DVD43, downloaded it and find the program works well, but with one big question remaining. DVD43 rips the commercial DVD, but how do you compress a commercial DVD to fit on to a 4.7 disk?
DVD Shrink does this for you. Is there another program needed to compress what DVD43 rips? If so, what can you recomend?

to start out with dvd43 doesent rip anything. it runs in the background to help break copy protection. when u put in the dvd the dvd43 in the toolbar should turn green, then open shrink and run as usual.

    Thanks Gamename,

So, DVD43 acts then to negate the copy protection on the commercial DVD, and can be used as just another way of unlocking the encription?

yes. there are others like anydvd and idlepro. the last two arent free but they are updated more frequently. i use anydvd. make sure u only have one of these installed at the time, if not u will have problems like your pc not recognizing a dvd when u put it in
