I run dvd 43 and up until now have had no problem with it. Just in the last 2 weeks I cannot find the little smillie that turns green when it has decrypted a movie and is now ready to read. With out this smillie it will not let me get the update..It says that it is running. The only way I know how to shut it down is to right click on that smillie and tell it to close. Can any one give me any help as to what happened to the smillie.....meame

Sometimes the s,i;ey disa[ears a lot of my programs do that. But to see what processes are running, right click on the taskbar and go to task manager, then click processes and in that list press the letter D. it should come up with DVD43_tray, something like that.

if it doesnt pick it up first on the list just keep pressing "D" and it will go down the list.

If found press end task and then close the window.

An re run the program again.

get anydvd it much better then dvd43,as dvd43 does cause problem on some systems..ye can not have both anydvd and dvd43 on ye system at the same time..

uninstall dvd43 or let anydvd uninstall it
    get it here
    http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

    note:
AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.

AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.

Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays.

But AnyDVD doesn't just stop at DVDs. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.

To re run the program just go to programs and then DVD43 and then click the DVD43 icon and this will re run the program.

The SlySoft team makes sure that AnyDVD is compatible with all the different software on the market! Even the crap that isn't worth the time downloading. Given, most of the crappy stuff is "cut-cornered" clones of more popular applications... At any rate, you CAN NOT go wrong investing in AnyDVD! I would suggest CloneDVD as well if you frequently back up new releases as soon as they hit the shelves. No one updates as frequently and promptly. This is an unbeatable combo. I also use AnyDVD in conjunction with Recode2 and alongside DVDDecrypter for processing with DVDRebuilder w/ CCE.

I love AnyDVD, basically because it does work with anything. They got a deal going on so you can get 5.00 off and the 35 bucks it will cost is the best investment you can make. If anyone is interested in comparisons between the transcoding programs and an encoding program like DVDRebuilder please take a look at this thread which shows the difference.

I also use dvd 43 and when I down load an update I install it on top of the old update. I never uninstall because I tried this one time and had a really hard time even getting it to down load again on my computer. I know a few friends that also use dvd 43 and down load a new update over the old because of the same problem...

Before I bought anyDVD I was using DVD43Free and the only way I could get it to successfully install was to uninstall the old version, then restart, then install the new version and restart. Any doing all this with my fingers crossed and my lucky rabbit foot. Of course after I bought anyDVD I no longer had install problems and didnt need my rabbit foot anymore.
