I am new to the forum. I have done some searching, but haven't found exactly what I am looking for. I have the newest version of CloneDVD2 with AnyDVD running in the background. I see where I can set the DVD type to DVD9. Will this burn to a DVD9. I have a dual layer burner and in some cases want to preserve image quality as best as possible and have the need to burn to the DVD9. I have used CloneDVDIII, but am not happy with that program. It doesn't seem to work as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jon
Yes CloneDVD will burn to a dual layer disk, just set the target to DVD9. Make sure you use good media Verbatim +R Dual Layers are the best. Set burn speed to 2.4x and if you burner is capable booktype to DVD-Rom for playback on all players.
Thank you for your reply. I am exited that it will do dual layer support. I have some verbatim +R discs being delivered as we speak. I don't understand what you mean by "booktype to DVD-Rom for playback on all players". Once I put it on the +R dual layer disc it should play back on all players that are capable of playing a +R disc, shouldn't it? Thanks again.
Yes it will play on all players capable of playing +R media, however there are players that will not play this format. By booktyping to DVD-Rom you have more compatibility with all players. I have an older Toshiba that will only play -R format so I booktype mine to be able to play them on that player. If your players have no problem with +R format then everything is okay.
