    [Edit]: Read my 2nd to Last Post (1. August 2006 @ 12:26)

i was backing up Pink Panther...with nero recode 2, and with dvd region free in the background, and it didnt do the job...so i read around afterdawn...and i found some ppl saying that DVDFab Decrypter will back it up to your hard drive like a charm, and then use Recode to transcode it and make it into dvd-5 size...then burn with nero etc..

so i used DVDFab Decrypter, and it did work like a charm, but it took like 1 Hour and 15 min to back up on my hard drive...is this normal?

Check to see if your DVDWriter and HDD are in DMA [bold]not[/bold] PIO mode

As you have nero use the nero info tool

i use dvdfab as my main ripping program. i don't think i have ever had a movie take more than 15 min. to rip to HD. the only time i have ever had it take longer is if it was a scratched disc.

    oh thanks for the help!!!

it was my DVD Writer...it was in PIO Mode...fixed it, now it works like a charm!

    ------

i have another question btw, does DVDFAB Decrypter only back up the "FULL" movie...like is there a way i can back it up on my hard drive so then i can just burn it with nero onto a DVD-5 disc...instead of having to use Recode to resize the DVDFAB Decrypter file, and then burning it onto a DVD-5?

    Glad you got it sorted

DVDFab Decrypter only copies the entire movie(while removing the movies encryption) to your HDD thats all it does.

u will still need recode most of the tme, even if u could rip movie only. most r still too large to fit onto a dvd5, most require 20-30% compression.

i have another problem...well while im ripping the movie from DVD Fab Decrypter...its still taking unusually long and its not in PIO Mode...
but if there is some other suggestion on why DVDFabDecrypter takes long to Rip...please tell me

my other problem is that, after its done ripping from DVD Fab Decrypter, and its on my Hard Drive...when i use Nero Recode to Recode the movie files that are on my hard Drive to DVD-5 Size, my comp is on 100% CPU Usage...but when im using Nero Recode and Recoding a Movie from the DVD Drive...my CPU is at Normal% Usage

should i not use Nero Recode 2 for Recoding movies from my Hard Drive...or what...anything im missin here?

    any suggestions?

How long does it take now?

Are you running any other programs in the background? Like a firewall/antivirus program while ripping.

What are the specs of your pc?

Have you recently installed any new programs?

Regarding your other problem have you changed the priority setting in nero to realtime / high / above normal?

alright it was a mistake...i solved the DVDFabDecrypter too long ripping problem...i ripped, and it took about 16 min, last time i never saw what time i started...and this time i counted how long it took, and it was fine, 16 min is good..so the DVDFAB Decrypter problem is solved

"Regarding your other problem have you changed the priority setting in Nero to realtime / high / above normal? "
^..nope i didnt mess with any of that stuff, its all on what nero has it on...

    now my serious problem...

alright first, my comp is new, and its really good, 3.0GHZ processor, 200 GB HD...1 GB Ram...and so on its HP, im pretty much sure its not about my comp, because this is first time ive had this problem...

Recoding the files made by DVDFAB Decrypter with Nero Recode 2...so opened up Nero Reocode 2, and found the video ts folder that DVDFAB Decrypter made...and now it resized it to DVD-5, then its Recoding...this makes my comp on 100% CPU Usage...it's INSANE...i dont know why recoding files [bold]from Hard Drive[/bold] makes comp do this...plus my comp makes a noise too while doing this, and it never, NEVER makes a noise at any other time, except while im doin this

...i have NEVER had this CPU Usage at 100% while Reocoding movies directly from the DVD Drive, hmm so whats the problem, this looks like a tough one, lol...should i use another program?...or no? what should i try doing

    *thinking and slapping myself*

actually, i do have the same problem. my system specs are as followed:
    3.06 proc HT
    2gig rams
    primary hdd 200gig
    second hdd 300gig
    256mb ati 9800pro video card
when running dvd shrink or nero recode, my cpu usage goes to 100% and eventually freezes or reboots. i have another program running to determine my cpu temperature (it was ranging from 35C - 39C..which is pretty cool). so i have no idea what to do now. any advice will help...
    thanks all

    Yeah

I'm also having the same problem while using DVDFab w/ Nero Recode after. ????

    100 % CPU usage...I've disabled all my anti-virus & firewalls.

Still having problem. I posted this on another thread.

I also have DVDDecrypter,Shrink,FixVTS can they be conflicting ?

When I open Nero Recode, after it finishes analyzing then when it encodes I get a ...OUT OF MEMORY message ???

Forget it......I just went & finally purchased AnyDVD w/ CloneDVD.

They've never failed me before. I had some bad copies , so I bought it directly from SlySoft themselves.

Running into too many problems the FREE stuff.
