I have backed up two dvd's with DvdFab and I have had problems.

Master of Disguise: When I choose Main Movie, it displays correctly in the preview, but when it rips, it rips just the version with the directors commentary, not the actual movie.

Narnia Prince Caspian: Again, Main Movie, the first couple of VOB files were the main movie then one of the VOB was director commentary and then the rest were the movie.

I have tried Full Disk and I get the same.

    Anyone know why this happened?

    Thanks so much.

Don't know if this help's or not, saw it on another forum: Title 1 is the actual main movie. Title 2 is the movie plus it shows commentary and behind-the-scenes stuff spliced in as you watch. All the rippers I've seen see Title 2 as being the longer title and therefore it gets selected by default. It's the wrong title to make a backup of. Make a backup of Title 1 and you'll have just the movie.

Do you know why I would get a mix of the two on this one?

No idea but that describes what happened with the thread I mentioned. The movie plays for awhile, then the commentary, then back to the movie. By the way, in answer to your other thread, MPEG-4 is a format of XVID and VLC will play it or the XVID codec with another player. A codec pack will have it too.

    Hi,

But have you tried backing up the full disc dvd fab to the hard drive, and then editing for main movie with either dvd shrink or vob blanker ?
    Both are free programs.

It's weird. I was having this happen when I played the VOB files using GOM player.

I uninstalled GOM and installed VLC and I played the files for Naria all the way through with no issues.

    No commentary.

Also, I didn't understand why it didn't automatically go to the next VOB file. Once I completed one, I had to launch the next.

    Thanks a bunch.

That's normal, each vob is only a portion of the movie, there are probably 4 or 5. There may be a way to play them consecutively but I'm not aware of it and haven't checked it out. An avi can be 1 file that play's the whole video. Edit: any number of tool's join vob's, just Google it, this one sound's good but I have no idea: http://beginwithsoftware.com/videoguides/joinvobfilestool.html

Interesting. The GOM Player played them continuously.

File 1 , File 2 and so on.

    Hi,
This is my first post...hope it helps. Select the AC3 5.1 in audio, don't select the AC3 2...it is the audio track for commentary.
