in DVDfab, it gives me 2 options to burn a DVD:

    VSO burning engine
    MCDB burning engine

what are they and what is the difference between the two?

It should not give u an option it just should ask u to select a folder u want to put the folders in and then just start by clicking the start button.

a burning engine tells what kind of burn to have to what disk and being VSO, or Nero it has it's on device drivers and codecs like the Patin Coufin for VSO and other programs use ASPI. Just know you have choices and some work better than others and some have more bugs than others, too. And burning engines communicate to the drive how to act when the software tells it a command... like burn disk in D:!
