I'm having trouble with DVDFab. I've been trying to use it with The Descent 2 and it keeps shutting down by itself. Sometimes it'll convert the 99.78% of the data but it'll say there's been a reading error, but most of the time it'll shut off by itself. I've made sure that everything else is shut off and I've even tried it in safe mode but nothing really works. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had this same problem with a disk I was trying to backup, the error kept popping up a the very end when the process was almost complete.

The problem may not be with DVDFab, but with the disk itself. It could be a scratch, a smudge or something about the way this disk was made that's giving DVDfab trouble when trying the read from it.

If you can, exchange it for another and try again.

John's got the right idea. At least tell us if the disc is dirty, like a big ole thumb print on the edge.

I have no problem using DVDFab 6 or 7 > Path Player Off > Main Movie > Title Angle #1 ( the only one to choose from).

Your Problem happen if you choose the Wrong Title Angle when the Original DVD have many to choose from when you back them up; but this one is a very simple one.

    My best guess is:
Your Original DVD is maybe damage....or your PC is shut itself down 'cos is Over Heating.

    Hope this help.

The disc is brand new & plays ok. It does skip a little though. I am using the lastest beta version of the program. I also tried disabling the pathfinder

Well if the Original DVD "skip a little"....then is your Original Disc.
You can always return it and get another one like johnl123 say.

Skipping a little is not a normal process for a newly purchased DVD. Exchange and retry as stated.
