what do i need to have? it says i need aspi installed on win32. is that some kind of xp fix? might be a noob question but i dont feel like tryin tons of crap to get it workin

Use this free Plextor utility. It's good enough if you just want write speed and manufacturer info: http://www.plextor.be/download/ftp1/CDVDInfo.zip Of course, if you had Nero 6, just use the CD-DVD Speed Utility.
