Hi xkrazzy, welcome to aD, Expect problems with players over 1 and ½ yrs old. The discs have changed and though we can upgrade out burners by download new Firmware we cannot do the same with standalones. Some helpful hints: 1. Burn decent quality media. 2. Burn at 4X to eliminate as many small errors as you can. 3. Dial back your DVD Target size from DVD-5 to “Custom” 4360MB to keep away from the disc’s edge. 4. Use 4X, -R rated discs. They have been around for a long time and most standalone players can “see” them. 5. BIG TIP HERE: If you have a burner that can change your BitType GREAT ! Buy good quality 4X, +R media and switch the format from DVD R to DVD ROM. REASON: A DVD ROM can be seen by more standalone players than any other format out there, bar none ! Always consider buying a new player. A CyberHome costs about $39.99 and will play a cheese pizza J Hope that helps, Pete
