I have an external Mad Dog 16x dual layer dvd burner that is about a month old. I use Nero Smartstart, the program that came with the burner. The media I am using is Dynex. I've made quite a few backups of movies that have worked fine in all of my dvd players, and recently I tried to make a couple of data DVDrs. When I tried to acces one, I opened up the dvd drive in my computer, saw the files, but as soon as i clicked on any of them, the window would stop responding. I tried this with another data dvd I made, and I had the same problem. I then tried to open a burned DVD movie, and I had the same problem. I tried them on my laptop as well, and got the same problem. I had a data dvd with videos on it, and the videos were readable in my standalone dvd player, but none readable in any of my computers. I figured that the drive that made the dvd would surely be able to read it, but that isn't the case. My only guess is that I'm burning them wrong somehow, or that the media is faulty. If it was faulty, though, I would think that they wouldn't be readable in the DVD players either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

So how did you burn your video and data DVDs specifically?
