Hi, I posted my problem in another 2 forums but I didn't get any solution. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this topic about burning problems but I really need help. Last two months my burned dvds are freezing and showing pixels. I am sure the media is not the problem because I've been using Maxell dvd-r for the last 5 years. And I also burned dvds on another computer and they play well on my standalone dvd player. But when I burn dvds on my computer they freeze on the same standalone player. I also bought a new dvd burner but it was not the problem and I tried all speeds as well. I use ImgBurn and DVDFab. Please is there any last hope?
Try using Verbatim brand disks. Get the ones that say 'AZO' or 'Advanced AZO' on the package - not their cheaper 'Life' series. In ImgBurn, Tools > Settings > Write, check 'Perform OPC before write'.
Yes I already tried AZO Verbatim and TDK as well but still with the same problem. Now after all this time trying to figure out, I installed Alcohol120% Trial and I burned 3 dvds with it and they worked all fine. Could this be possible or it's a coincidence? I mean if that was the problem, what is wrong with DVDfab and ImgBurn? They are both updated to the latest version. But maybe when I burn more dvds they will skip and freeze again, who knows?!!!
Yes they freeze on another different standalone too. But I think I figured out what was the problem. I installed older Imgburn version 2.5.1.0 and I tried 5 dvds and non of them freezed. Is that possible or is that a coincidence?
If it works, then use it, however I've been using the latest (Jan 2011) 2.5.0.0 without any problems and I haven't seen any reports at the Forum. http://forum.imgburn.com/
2.5.0.0 is older than Jan 2011, it is 2 years old. So why older version works fine? I still cant figure out!
