Hi, When playing back almost every DVD I've burnt (Verbatim +Rs) using Burnaware, anywhere between 50 minutes to just over an hour, the film/TV programme/anything freezes and I have to eject it to start from the beginning again, skipping past that bit that freezes. If I skip it until after the freezing bit, it plays fine, it just seems to freeze around that time, every disc. Is it the burning software? The DVD player needs a clean? Thanks for any advice. Ian
No - it plays fine on my pc (the dvd files). It's just strange that it gets to between 50 & 60 minutes & the picture freezes & the only way I can resume it is to eject, and skip the chapters to just after where it freezes.
try the disc on another dvd player even a friend's to see if it is your player, your burning program or your disks are causing the problem.
Hahahaha why yes, yes it did thank you - just watching 18 hours of The Vietnam War and it hasn't frozen once yet (after 7 hours so far). The DVD player didn't like the cleaning disc though - just span around and kept spinning!
Actually a dirty laser lens can make perfect sense, especially since cleaning the disc appears to have worked.I'm curious are those discs by any chance dual layer? A little crud on a laser reduces its capacity to accurately read a disc which can cause it to stutter or stop, especially when it comes to a DL DVD Layer Change/switch, which can also happen at about the same point on each disc. This also explains how he can skip past the point of the skip and have it continue to play.
