I am new to this site and don't have time to go thru all the threads. Until a year ago, we were burning movies pretty frequently and they would mostly work in our dvd player. We now have a Blu-Ray HD Player. The older burned movies play but we have been unable to get any newer ones (those burnt in the last 18 months) to play. These movies will play on mine and my husband's computers. Mine has Vista, his has XP. We have AnyDVD and DVDShrink with Nero 7. We have tried both DVD-R and DVD+R to no avail. Most of the movies we try to burn are regular or HD. We hardly do Blu-Ray. I really hope someone can help.

Hmmm, I noticed this can occur too um, I have the SONY BDP-BX1. I recently backed up my store bought copy of PUSH to a Verbatim DVD-9 dual layer disc and strangely enough when I select play from the titles menu and the BLU-RAY just seems to idle cycle? I selected next on my remote and the movie plays with no problem. I even noticed this the other night while looking at the original DVD disc (not a back up disc)of the movie SWORDFISH. I paused from writing just now ...and popped in my dual layer back up of THE UNBORN URATED and more of the same as I program all of my DVD back ups to start from the titles main menu. What's also interesting is if I used my SONY HDTV remote which has an option to sync and play my BLU-RAY player this problem goes away...strange.
