    I have actually found the same question posted on this site but there was no answer posted to it, so I thought I'd try to ask myself.

    I make DVDs using DVD Studio Pro 4 and I frequently set chapter markers. I have noticed that when played back with a DVD player (and I tried that on a few different dvd players), the DVD will pause for a moment (probably about one second, very short time but noticeable) at the place where a chapter marker has been placed. It is almost as if the chapter marker had a duration but in DVD Studio Pro 4 I have not been able to find any place where it could be set.

    Does anyone have any experience with this and maybe know a remedy?

    Thank you, Basia

    I have run into this.
    It was the standalone DVD Recorder which burned the disks.
    The problem showed on multiple standalone players.
    I went through support and firmware patches, but the real fix was getting a different brand of DVD recorder.
    I don't know about that particular software you are using, but I haven't noticed the problem with my PC burners or the Authoring programs I have used.
    Try 'ConvertXtoDVD', which sets chapter points, as a test.

    Ignore the previous poster - he seems to be trying to get you to buy a product you just should not be using. It's consumer crapware by comparison with what you already have.

    Pauses on Chapter Points are nearly always caused by one of the following issues:
    1 - VM commands set at Chapter Points.
    This could be something like a storyboarding setup, where you have placed commands at chapter points - in or out - and the player has to pause to read the command & see if it applies or not. AN example would be something like a "LinkTailPGC" command, where you are using GPRM or SPRM comparators to set the desired path.
    2 - A firmware issue in the player.
    The first option is the most likely cause here.

    @wilkes

    I resent the implication that I am soliciting for a software company and I don't care to have motives questioned, nor my integrity impugned by someone who has never met me and I further doubt that the contemptible remarks would be repeated to my face if you did.
