    Hi guys,
i have been banging my head against the wall all afternoon regarding thid one.
i have recorded lots of old vcr movies to dvd, they will play fine on the device i have used to record them on, but anytime i have tried to play the movie on any external dvd player a dvd_rtav folder appears, after i highlight it and select it a subfolder with some dots appears, when i click it , it takes me back to the main dvd_rtav folder.
i have put a title on the movie and finalised the dvd as instructed on the manual.
i have tried to play the dvd's on two different dvd players but to no avail.

any help, i would be very grateful

    regards
    Sniper

Is the disk a DVD-Ram, not all standalone unitswill play these.
Either use DVD R or DVD RW.
You can probably pull the video off the disk and create a standard DVD.

Does the recorder offer the choice of Video Mode or VR mode, because I think it should be Video Mode for playback on most other standalone units.

If the disk can be read on the PC, then I think the .VRO file is the video.

odd format for a dvd recorder that.. they usually make rather standard disks. rw disks are always trouble with standalone players and a LOT will not see 16x or + disks either.

I think attar is on the right track suggesting looking for a different recording mode to start with.

you can't finalize a rw disk.. not possible.

I use DVD-RW in a Panasonic recorder and they have to be finalized, else they won't work in another player.
