Hey, y'all! I'm having a problem with backing up DVDs. I use Clone DVD and Any DVD. I haven's had problems until recently-the DVD will read but when I go to write and put a blank DVDR in, it's like the DVDR is not being recognized. It just continues to tell me to put a recordable disc in. I've cleaned the writer, reloaded the programs, and tried different DVDRs..nothing works!! Any suggestions???

Peetle I would have to say that your firmware for your DVD drive needs to be updated or that the type of media is a no no. Try using Verbatim or Tayio, Sony or Maxell. I Use Verbatim if you can get them. Best Buy has an ad for this sunday for a 50 pack of Verbatim for $14.99 and that is a very good price. Most here I believe uses Verbatim or Tayio which are the best out ther. I will use Sony or Maxell which is not bad if I really have to. Good luck....

I actually had that exact same problem and to put it simply what fixed it for me was completley ending the programs, and restarting the comp. and it worked fine.

I also took those programs out of my startup options for when the comp. boots up.

start-run-msconfig(hit ok)-startup tab-deselect those for startup. Start them up yourself when the comp reboots. You might not have to do that but I did it anyway.

I think my burner in my computer is no good, or on it's way out. Is there anyway to know for sure? My warranty is expiring soon and I would like to get a new burner if needed before warranty expires obviously.
Also, I was told that my firmware may need updating. I am very new to all this so could someone tell me how to update my firmware.
And dogman thanks for the info with the circuit city CD's I am going to go get some too.
Here is my problem and it is just sooo frustrating because I use to be able to burn my kids dvd's all the time now nothing! Please let me know if you can offer any help. Thanks so much...Here is the error log? Is this what you need?
