    Hi All!

I was wondering if anyone has heard of a function that allows you to 'record' programs on your dvd player using memory (80hrs, 240hrs etc) instead of a burner. I've tried google-ing it but because I don't know the term of the function I'm coming up blank. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my mother is very interested in purchasing one. (incidentally, if you happen to know of some good players that incorporate this function that'd be even better!)

    Cheers,

You're not talking about a DVR are you? It doesn't play dvds, but it records tv shows to a hard drive. I've never heard of a dvd player, that can record, without it being a burner.

Maybe actually... I did another search and I think maybe mum's heard about the DVR's or the DVD Recorders with built-in Hard Drives or one of the hybrid machines. Thanks for your help that makes for a better starting point!
