Downloaded an .avi file from the internet and used Avi2DVD to convert it to dvd format. Used Nero the first time to burn it as an image. It didnt work on my dvd player, gave me a message "check tv settings" or something close to that. Used the same dvd at a friends house and it plays fine, which I believe it is an older dvd player. Tried it at 2 other friends houses and no luck, newer dvd players. So, I did some reading and found that if I changed the bookmark type to dvd-rom this may work. It didnt and I used dvd decryter this time. I have tried with only two types of media, Sony dvd+r and Memorex dvd+rw. I hate to go buying different brands of dvds if it is a software problem or a problem with the players. I am unsure of the brands on the players. What else could I try? Thanks for any replies.

The DVD might be in PAL region. You can either buy a dvd player that can handle PAL or convert PAL to NTSC.

I do not believe it is in Pal because it played on one of the dvd players. It also plays fine on my computer.
