I'm using the latest version of dvdshrink (3.2) and XP. Problem is when I click on 'Reauthor' the program crashes. Have looked at the details in 'the crash report' and there's something about ntdll.dll. Thought maybe the dll was bad so replaced it and I still get the same program crash. Shrink will 'see' the movie (either from a file or disc) but will shutdown every time the 'Reauthor' button is pressed..... Any help appreciated. Thanks Dale
Try UnInstalling Shrink and ReInstalling it. Had a friend that was having the same problems and he just redid Shrink and it now works great. try that and see if that helps and good luck....
Yup.... figured that might help. But have already done that 3 times. Even found different downloads to try thinking maybe one was corrupted, but still no joy. Even reinstalled the specified dll 3 times from different sites also .. and from my disc. No luck. Thanks again for your help.... any other ideas now? I've sure ran out.
flattop27, This is more than likely a copy protection issue. DVD shrink hasn't been updated for a long time and will not be, because of this, shrink alone can't handle the newer copy protection techniques placed on some of the newly released DVDs so you'll either get an error or it will simply quite on you. Keeping it free: Download a free ripper/decrypter called DVDFab decrypter and use it to rip the video files to your HDD, once it's done you should have a VIDEO_TS folder on your HDD, run DVD shrink and use it to open the files, click on the open files tab and browse to where the VIDEO_TS folder is located and choose it, shrink will open/import the files and should be able to proceed as usual from that point. Get DVDFab here; http://209.172.35.173/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe Here's a guide if need on using it; http://www.dvdshrink.info/dvdfab_decrypter.php The other option is to use anydvd, its a driver that runs in the backround to crack the encryption and help shrink produce a backup. It's free for 21 days, if interested, check it out here; http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html
Yup.... That must have been it. Downloaded what you suggested and things are A-OK now. THANK YOU ALL for the input. I'm new at this and need all the help I can get! I build 'em, but I don't do these chores often. Only when a friend asks will I try. Appreciate it!
