I am using dvdx copy platinum 4.0.38. I was using v3.2.1.
With both, I can not copy Toy Story 2. I keep getting the message "encrypted data".
So far, this is the only dvd I have had this problem with. Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of this problem?
Unless someone knows where I could get the tdf files for this movie.
I would appreciate anyone's help. Except for this problem, I have been very happy with this program. I want to keep the special features, deleted scenes, etc., so this program is just fine.
I am not the smartest when it comes to this stuff, so any help will be gladly accepted.
    Thanks

Well, if DVD X Copy refuses to copy, just use another program. DVD Shrink for instance (freeware). It will allow you to keep the menus and the extras. I had no problem to copy Toy Story 2 with Shrink.

    For a full-disc backup, have a look at http://www.dvdshrink.info/fulldisk_basic.php

I downloaed DVD Shrink, installed it, went to the webpage for whole movie, and it failed.
    I got the message
    "Failed to read file "G:/"
Copy protection error- The read failed because the sector is encrypted"
So, as you see, I am still getting the encrypted message.
What can be the problem, do you know?

DVD Decrypter is perfect at ripping/unencrypting encrypted DVD's , your comment makes no sense !! (this meaning that DVD Decrypter works fine for everyone else & maybe it's your hardware/PC spec that might be the problem)
You can keep DTS audio in DVD Shrink if you wish , dont comment without knowing how the software properly works in future please... it's not helpful (thanks)

    This is for daba!
I don't know who those others are, but I just finished using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. It works great! It did the entire Toy Story 2 disc.
It took longer than the other program, but got the job done.
    Thanks for you help

I did not have any success with TCM with DVDshrink or DVDXCopyPlatinum. Used DVD decrypter to rip onto hard drive andwas able to use DVDshrink to Reauthor the main movie and burn it to disc.. DVDshrink still would not open the other files besides the main movie even after i ripped them to HDD with DVD decrypter ..

tell me iM nuts or whatever but I have burned over 500 DVDs and i believe I know what I am doing!!

Ripped and burned 2 other movies just now with DVDshrink and it worked fine just like it always has ... I am telling you something is up with Texas Chain saw Massacre!!!!

So you think its my computer huh??
How bout a suggestion as to what you think it might be. Just so you know I tried the same movie on my Brithers PC today, and the same thing happened. Went and got a different copy of the movie and it worked just fine on my PC with DVD decrypter and DVDShrink. Xcopy Plat as well.

So if you could please, tell me what you think is wrong wth my PC!!

    jeknee117,
You need to try a program that works. You can D/L DVD Shrink and DVDDecrypter and they are light years ahead of Platinum .

Here is my 2 cents on this issue...

I have encountered 'encrypted data' and 'Failed to read file "H:\" The maximum number of secrets that can be stored in a single system has been exceeded' errors with DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6 when reading from external Liteon XJ-HD166S with DS18 over a firewire link.

I never had that problem when reading from internal unit.

    Hi all

This might be to late for some of you.
If you are having problems with some dvds, check your region settings, region 1 or 2 etc.
It must be set to the same as the dvd you want to back up.This applies to DVDX & DVD Shrink

    Hope that helps

I had some difficulty only when trying to use Shrink to ISO the entire movie. I was able to use decrypter to remove the encryption, and then I used Shrink to re-author the dvd and burned just the movie. Before I did this, Shrink would error out when it would get to the actual movie during the encoding process. I mostly got memory referencing errors, which I am sure is somehow an error on my part. Regardless, I have used shrink and decrypter many many times now, and they both rock!
