I have an original copy of DVDXcopy platinum version 4.0.3.8. It used to work great on my old computer I never had a problem backing up a movie. I bought a new computer (much more powerful) I have a Lite On DVD rom which writes to a 10,000 RPM western Digital HD & a plextor PX-716A to burn with. MY PROBLEM is now any and all movies I try to back up, I get a message from DVDXcopy that the movie is CSS encrypted. I get this message with movies that I was able to burn in the past on my old computer!! Anybody any suggestions. Ya I can run ANYDVD in the back ground and it will copy (slowly) but I should not have to. Any ideas ????

try doing what rule #1 says ... SEARCH.

to answer a future question ..... once you get past the CSS encryption your gonna have burn problems :) ... XCopy was made to write at 2.4x and 4x. You cannot control the burn speed. And since alot of 4x media will write at 6x-8x with updated firmware you pretty much stuck w/ using 2.4x media :)
