Since this this software ([bold]latest version 4.0.3.8 [/bold])was deemed illegal, 321 have posted a "ripper free" update ([bold] version 4.0.4.15 [/bold])) to their site. This version is supposed to work independently of the old, but before I install, I wondered if there's any informed knowledge out there regarding other "improvements" to the new version. For instance, has the "browser' button been un-grayed.
Stick with the 4.0.3.8 or better yet use the older 3.2.1. Or go to one like 1click dvd copy. It is much better in my opinion anyway. There are many others that will work better then the new ripper free x-copy. I have Platinum, gold, and 1click. I feel that 321 studios is on their last leg.
Thanks for the advice. Might reconsider Nero Recode, which works well with a program like Region-Free.
Hey, do you think you could hit me up with version 4.038? I purchased a copy of platinum and it is version 3.1.1. I have my own license id and password, i just need the software. I went to the 321 site and all they offer is the ripper free version. If you don't know where it is do you think you can direct me on where I can get it? Help me out. Thank you
BTW - I've tried downloading 4.0.3.8 on several sites but all i get is broken links. I get directed to that perfectnav site!? Where can i get this. I don't need a crack for it i just need the upgrade so that i can enter my license id and password and use it.
go to warez freaks com they have it there ,they have a listing of several sites but found the last listng the only one that worked which i think was there own site .just downloaded it 2 days ago also got ver 3.2.1 express got those also in case they work better
Verhobb - hope you got your copy of 4038. Mine just stopped working with Region-Free. Region-Free used to work fine with DVDX - never had a CSS message. Now I get CSS messages on everything. Only think I can attribute it to is installation of 1Click... I uninstalled and cleaned registry with Registry Mechanic... still no go. Also tried reinstalling DVDXcopy and Region-Free and reinstalled ASPI... still the CSS message. Anyone any ideas???
i still have not been able to download 4.0.3.8. I tried warezfreaks and every time i click on the version it downloads a trojan that my antivirus automatically deletes and it shuts down internet explorer.
Ihave a popup blocker which keeps unwanted junk fromp coming up on warez freaks but go to page 9 under d last page the link that works the best is world warez date says 2-17 2004 also when that site comes up there will be a pop up wanting you to run dynamic key say no REPEAT SAY NO THEN DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM 4.0.3.8 DVD XCOPY AND CRACK
i finally got a copy of 4.0.3.8 on kazaa. Did not come with a crack but I am hoping that my legitimate license id and password will work for it since i paid full price for the software. (3.1.1)
Seems the CSS problem with DVDX COPY was caused by installation of 1CLICK DVD which had bundled with it a packet writer: COPY TO DVD. The only fix which has worked perfectly for me was to use WINDOWS XP SYSTEM RESTORE and restore the system to a date prior to the installation of 1CLICK. Now DVDX is working perfectly again in conjunction with Region Free - no CSS messages. BTW, I checked the Pattin-Couffin version and it's v 1.19, so the so called "fix" to downgrade to v 1.17 is erroneoous. Interested to know how all you other CSS sufferers get on.
Okay, wait... I may have given 1CLICK a bad rap. MAY have. Still wary of ALL packet writers. I later re-installed a DVD catalog program called DVD PROFILER... and there was the CSS message in DVD X COPY again. Uninstalled DVD PROFILER completely, cleaned registry, still the CSS message. Uninstalled dvdx 4038, cleaned registry, and re-installed the earliest retail version of DVDX copy and everything works fine. And again, with Region-Free, all regions are working again with no CSS restrictions. Note that the Pattin-Couffin driver version with the earliest DVDX COPY is 1.13. This is tricky. But now things are back to normal, I've set a new restore point for WINDOWS and can return to it if some other CSS issue raises its head.
For those of you annoyed with the 'DVD Backup' screen at the beginning of DVDs you backed up with X Copy, check out 321Gone. It's a tiny app that removes the backup screen as well as the 'watermark' that supposedly can be used to identify the machine the backup was made on. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/55726
I have a copy of 4.0.3.8. The 3.2.1 keygen works with it, but you have to enter the info into XPress. I too am getting the CSS warning, and I'm running with AnyDVD(???). So, if I reinstall an older Patin coffin driver this message will go away?
I did some searching and apparently in 4.0.3.8 the CSS error is a bug. Switching to the older Patin Coffin Driver will fix this. http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/6/70186 http://forum.321studios.com/?f=21&m=31631
Check your DVD burner region, if its wrong, you'll get CSS error. Play the dvd in a pc player like PowerDVD or WinDVD. This will auto select the dvd region. Also to correctly remove DVDXCOPY you have to remove in add/remove programs..dont reboot!!, delete 321studios folder, empty recycle bin, then reboot. Disable antivirus, Install software.
