Ok. I've been ripped. Ripped off that is. I paid good money and got dvdxcopy platinum w/ ripper. Installed last night, seemed everything is installed fine. Activated via web. Tried the simple burn of my kid's dvd, and read process went okay (10 to 12 min.). The write process, however, did not. It burned for like 20 seconds, and then it spat out the Ritek 8x +R. Several times. So frustrated, I downloaded clonedvd (1 copy limit version) and burned w/o a problem. So what am I doing wrong or is there something that I need to do to DVDXCopy Platinum? You need to update your pattern-couffin I had the same problem. You have not been ripped offed you should ask for help before you start slamming the software. Xcopy is not perfect you should be running msconfig and turning off all start up programs.

I have some of 321 Studio's software on my PC. I had some trouble along the same lines, making coasters. Tier 2 tech assistance gave me a lengthy bulletin they had prepared. Seems that a number of popular software programs cause interference problems. They said the problem could crop up anytime; even after the program functioning well for an extended period. A word of warning, try turning off programs before going through Add-Remove to remove permanently. I found my solution in the bulletin. My Roxio and anti virus software needed turning off before burning. Hope your problem may be as simple. Here is the bulletin: The following programs can cause problems while using our software. The above is about the best info that 321 tech was able to give. I noticed you said kid's movie. Just out of curiosity, what is the movie? I've been running into certain movies that Xcopy will not record, even when it functions properly with other movies. I've found the biggest problem with animated movies and Disney movies, especially their animated ones. Xcopy will not record all movies.
Hmm! Disney movies are usually multi-angled interleaved movies and that can become complicated to backup. To get past these obstacles you have to strip the angles from the title set where they're contained.
Sophocles, Could well be part of the problem. However, I did back up Pirates of the Caribbean with Xcopy (I know, not animated) and it worked out okay. Something like DVDremake would edit out some of these problems. But most people purchasing Xcopy first look at it for supposed ease of use. I just switched to using another program for animated movies. There to, I realize a lot of people don't want to invest in more than one program. Not like those of us with a closet full of goodies.
Dolly 7775 I had the same problem with platinum. I ditched the software and installed three others in its place: anydvd, dvd shrink and clonedvd2. Perfect copies everytime.
Dolly, dvd shrink is free the other two are not...however you can find crack codes for dvdclone2 and anydvd. If you're anything like me you really feel ripped off spending 70-80 dollars on this platinum product. send it back and request your $$ back...it might work out for you.

10 days and then to say you disagree with us about the rules. The issue is fair use, not piracy. A lot of companies are still selling the products on the market, usually as separate components. So we're not pimping. Pimping implies payment, we try to help others within the framework of the forum and we sometimes learn in the process. What I've learned here is that crthomas does not appreciate the rules. If you don't like us and our rules and what we try to accomplish, I think I can say for everyone that you will not be missed.
