    TheZodiac,

I'm not sure what your problem is - I'm not chopped liver -

You asked a question, I offered you an answer - If you don't like it, don't do it.
I would appreciate it if you would at least acknowledge that your question was answered. The fact is, I DID RESPOND !

The nice thing about this place is when you want information and we supply it - you can still do whatever you want, it's called freedom :) But don't pretend we didn't do anything -

BTW, Since you don't know what to use and our advice isn't any good why don't you go the Pioneer site, here - I looked it up for you -

    cheers,

    Pete

Its the same firmware for all pioneer x07 drives (a07, 107, 107D, etc.) And as scuba said, just get the one from the pioneer site, the 1.18 is the latest and best.

I also havea Pioneer DVR-107D and I am having a problem with burning to DVD+RW DVD's.
Burning to DVD-RW DVD's is no problem but I needed a rewritable DVD and purchased a DVD+RW.
When I tried to burn .VOB files onto it using Nero Burning Rom Ver 6 it could not perform the action. It brought up the Error message.
    DVD-RW DVR-107D:waiting for disk
Sorry your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disk, please insert a disk of the correct media type or modify the settings of the compilation to make it compatible with the current disk.
Checked the settings and made sure check for current disk format before burning was ticked.
Took the DVD to my friends place who has the same DVR-107D we bought them together and on his comp he burnt mpeg files to it using Ulead s/ware. On my comp my Winmedia picks them up and plays the files.
Soundslike a problem with Nero but Im not sure, please can you help me.

    Several things -

First off DonutHead, Welcome to our Club :)

NOW, Let's go over the basics Okie, Dokie ?

For that we’ll have to turn on the TV to “The Wide Warped World of Sports,” already in progress :)

First, to our sports announcer "ScubaPete" at the local ball field -

Hi folks, nice of you to join us - (hey ball boy, gimme a beer, "K" ?)

First up to bat this inning, our all star, ASPI - let's check his record, He likes to sandwich himself between the software and the burner, allowing fast and precise communication and smooth performance.

First we see if he'll join the lineup via Adaptec ASPI layer OR Nero ASPI.

Sometimes he's reluctant to join the team so we may have to "Force" him by using "Force ASPI."

We'll find all of those links here –

    http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/aspisetup.cfm

Once we've made him join, it's good to check on him, here's a good observation tool for just that player -

    http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...nguage=English+US&filekey=aspichk.exe&sess=no

Taking a short break while a fan streaks the field, we're switching you to the All World Golf Tournament and ScubaPete 2 at the clubhouse -

(hey) "High Ball," I mean Hi ya'all, StupidPete, I mean ScubaPete 2 for phase two -

We'll be going out to the links (when I get anudder rink) to see how our Firmware is for our burner of choice -

The Firmware, as we might remember, is our burner's tutor, making sure all educational requirements are met.

Let's head over the library and see where our firmware should be -

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

We'll check our firmware with this little probe –

At the bottom of the page look for "What's my firmware? - Try this little tool I found," Download this tool and check out your Firmware’s health (education wise).

    http://flashman.rpc-1.com/

If you haven't gotten the proper firmware - back you go to get your upgrade - You cannot be without it -

Time to take a break from our sports broadcast and transfer you back to ScubaPete at the bar, . . . Huuuuummmm, ScubaPete, I say, ScubaPete . . . has anyone seen ScubaPete what, . . , wha . . he's under the wha . .

Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen, ScubaPete seems to be under the, ahhhhhh, the . . . (Psssst, get you feet offin da ScubaPete's head, he won't be on the floor all nite . .

Someone ship him back to A/D, alrighty ?

Well folks, we've lost our signal but we hope you can see your drive now and that it can see all it needs too –

Time to turn off the TB, I mean the TV before ScubaPete comes too (I'm sorry) until he wakes up - -

After a pause that refreshes, there's one last thing if you're still having trouble -

    Nero is a tad "Flakey"

On occasion and needs a little "Slap" to set it right -

Let's do a "Clean" uninstall of Nero
    - for this we go to "Control Panel" and then "Add and Remove Programs" - remove "Nero Ultra Edition".

After you have removed it, reboot your PC to help it along out of your system. Now I want you to use Nero registery checker and Nero Clean tools to remove all the little leftovers of Nero - You must do this prior to installing Nero again or else all else would have been in vain.

    Get those tools here:

    http://www.nero.com/en/631938356417810.html

Now, after you are done, let's reinstall Nero, directly from Nero's site - including all the extras except for InCD. For now, that one isn't on our "Friendly List". Don't forget to do a reboot after you're finished to help everything "settle in".

Now let's fire that "Bad Boy " up and see how we do :)

Unless we haven't done everything and I mean everything in the order I've outlined we should be absolutely Aces -

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Thanks for the tips ScubaPete.
I did try all that but there still seems to be a problem with the ASPI.
As a comp technician with little knowledge in this area the ASPI didnt install that smoothly.
I just installed the latest NERO and it has Nero Infotool which I ran.
I click on the tab ASPI, in that window it says ASPI installation and what is selected there is system ASPI and then lists 4 files WNASPI32.DLL, ASPI32.SYS, WINASPI.DLL, WOWPOST.E
At the bottom in bright red it says ASPI installation is corrupted.
However with a dropdown arrow I can switch to Nero ASPI that lists one file WINASPI32.DLL and at the bottom it says ASPI is installed and working properly.
When i switch it to this it wont save.
Did a search under ASPI and it must have brought up 50 files of which who knows what could be corrupted.
Im just wondering if I should just delete all the ASPI files except for the one that works or would this cause damage?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Just to give you an idea the files are, well copy, paste aint working.

Basically loads of .sys .dll .Bak from all sorts of folders including c:\\winnt\system32.

If you have dvd decrypter installed , use it to find the right firmware for you:
    open dvd decrypter,
be sure that your dvd unit is selected on destination, right click, select firmware update and thats it, decrypter launches a search on rpc1.

    Thanks for the advice Gorangel
D/loaded the firmware but it wouldnt install.
This is the second DVD burner I have installed and it has exactly the same problems.
So its definately something with the comp.
    Unable to upgrade firmware.
Have a 16 speed burner that takes 40min its a pioneer went to their site and there is a upgrade for it.
    Cant play DVD+ at all.
    My ASPI isnt corrupt anymore.
Does anybody out there know what the problem is, or have any ideas as Ive had this problem for a long time now.

Donuthead, flip218 recomends this link to deal with aspi issues.
    http://forceaspi18.w.interia.pl/
Remember : there are two types of archives to flash your drive: an .exe file and a .bin file, the bin file only works on DOS .
why don´t you check the forums of rpc1.org ?, i found information about my dvd burner, the perfect firmware for it, and instructions to flash the drive (the right way)

ASPI isnt needed as there's one in Nero & it's all I have ever had... my PC is not the latest spec either : )

It sounds like you've shut out Nero's ASPI DonutHead by downloading whatever you've grabbed & tried to install.

It seems that whatever I do the problem remains. It must be the biggest pain in the ass problem of come accross for a while. Ive had this comp for 2 - 3 years and never reformatted, so I figure nows a good time.
Thanks for all the suggestions, Im going to start from scratch and I'll let you know how it goes. Before that I will have to scream at my comp for wasting eveybodies time.
