My e drive recognizes all my DVD+R's instantly, but a bunch of DVD's i am trying to back up aren't even recognized by my drive. I put them in and it does not show anything in the drive, some dvds do show up some don't. Anyone got any ideas.

Would guess that you are trying to back up DVDs of Asian origin - those not recognised by your drive probably have non-english characters in the TOC.

had a similar problem,i backed up war of the worlds and charlie and the chocolate factory.they both played on my portable player just fine.but both my standalones and my E drive wouldnt recognize the material on the disk.i wanted to re-rip the movie to hard drive and try and reburn it but since E drive wouldnt recognize it i didnt know what to do,i didnt have original discs anymore.then for the hell of it i popped the disc in my C drive and it recognized it,so i re-ripped it to hard drive through C drive and re burned it with E drive and it plays on everything just fine know.
