I've read other threads on this subject but mine is a little different. I have a laptop that gives the "Media Test Failure Check Cable" followed by "Operating System not Found" intermittently. I can read and write to disk without any problem. Could this be a bad sector on the hard drive?
Thanks for your input. One other observation is that it seems to boot okay if it is warm. If it is turned off for several hours, the boot fails. But then after I turn it off, it ususally boots fine. Could it be the hard disk isn't seated well?
