hey i did the xclamp fix a while ago to see if that would help against the e74 ... and it did for a couple of months but i can see signs of it coming back again so do you think if i put the xclamps back in (since i saved all the parts) and give it back to microsoft to fix, they would send me a new? If they decide not to fix it they will just send it back to me right? Thanks for the help everyone
They might or might not. Its a gamble and yes they will just send it back to you. what condition is your warranty sticker in? also if your case is all messed up in the areas where the case is held together like in the back where the tabs are that is a dead giveaway it has been opened. Im willing to bet most people that have sent in a flashed or opened console and got them repaired were very carefull not to mess their cases up so it wasnt obvious it has been opened. The warranty stickers can come off by accident sometimes. My first 360 the warranty sticker was all messed up when i got it and it had never been opened. That was the silver old style
My sticker is in okay condition so i think that should be fine. I figure i might as well take the chance to put the original x-clamps back in the xbox and pray that microsoft fix it for free. If not i guess i'm going to have to buy a new xbox. Thanks for the quick reply stealthf
I'm glad they started covering E74 for 3 years now. This needed to happen a long time ago... Thank you for the great news stealthdf!
The best news is that people that already paid to have E74 fixed will be getting refunds....now to me thats how a company takes care of people in these types of situations. i know saying that is asking for fire but at least they are trying this time around even if it is a bit late.
Thanks for the good news for sure stealthdf. I might not have found this out on my own. Perfect timing too, cause I just picked up a 360 with the E74 error for parts. I guess I'll just send it back instead of ripping it apart. Good for Microsoft for owning up to this problem too. Better late than never.
